Galgorm Unveils New Spa Attractions as Part of £2 Million Expansion Project


Northern Ireland’s premier luxury hotel and spa destination, Galgorm Spa & Golf Resort, has unveiled its new, dramatically enhanced Thermal Village and Spa provision, representing an investment of more than £2 million into the popular Resort’s tourism credentials.

Work on the expansion project commenced in March this year after closing its doors in line with government safety restrictions.

The newly-reopened Resort now boasts a suite of new attractions for spa guests, including a 10 metre infinity pool on the shores of the River Maine, a 200m2 Palm House relaxation area encompassing 6 heated loungers, and a brand new Salt Room for halotherapy experiences.

With over 90 per cent of its Thermal Village and Spa offering located outdoors, Galgorm has also installed two group hot tubs and saunas, three additional private hot tubs with waterfall views and six brand new riverside cabanas.

Galgorm Spa & Golf Resort Among UK’s First Hotels to Secure New AA COVID Confident Mark


Galgorm Spa & Golf Resort has become one of the UK’s first hospitality businesses to secure the new AA COVID Confident Mark for its health and safety commitment ahead of reopening on Friday 24th July.

The UK-wide accreditation certifies Galgorm Spa & Golf Resort as having all the necessary assessments, safety measures and staff training in place to reopen safely and in line with all official guidelines.

Backed by all the UK’s top industry bodies, the scheme is designed to support the hospitality industry in reassuring consumers as restrictions ease.

Galgorm Spa & Golf Resort, which is the only independent hotel in Northern Ireland to make the AA grade, recently published its own full safety guidelines and hygiene commitment. The Resort is also in the process of obtaining Visit Britain’s ‘We’re Good To Go’ consumer safety standard, which is supported by Tourism Northern Ireland and the Northern Ireland Hotels Federation.

Frontline First


Carsmetic NI, part of the Charles Hurst Group, has completed delivery of its first batch of essential protective equipment to medical staff at Craigavon Area Hospital.

An initial 12 PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) suits and 30 masks were donated by the company to help in the collective fight against Covid-19 by protecting frontline workers. The important donation is part of a series of initiatives undertaken by Charles Hurst Group to support local and wider communities.

New Armagh SRC Campus Secures Top Rating For Sustainability


Southern Regional College’s new £35 million landmark campus in Armagh has secured an official BREEAM ‘excellent’ rating for sustainability, contributing to the College’s ambition to become among the most sustainable in the UK and Ireland.

CastleCourt Leaps into Creative Learning with Launch of New Kid’s Club


CastleCourt today launched its brand-new ‘Shopstars’ kid’s club – a free, monthly educational workshop kicking off this Saturday 29th February from 12-4 pm.

Suitable for children aged five and over, the club aims to encourage creative learning in a fun and inclusive environment, whilst younger children can join in the fun on the day with face painters and entertainers.

Taking place on the last Saturday of the month, each session is focused on a different topic, with the first in the series featuring a Lego Animation Workshop to develop digital skills and encourage creativity using mixed media.

CastleCourt has a number of family-friendly facilities available at the centre. Most recently, the centre invested in the upgrade and refurbishment of its ‘Playworld’ soft play facility for children aged 2-5 years old. In addition, the centre boasts a parent room fully equipped with bottle-warmer, change-table, private feeding room, nappy dispensers and microwave oven, as well as a free Kiddy-Car service. Armagh Celebrates St Patrick With 12-day Festival


Armagh’s Home of St Patrick Festival runs from Friday 6 March until Tuesday 17 March

Ireland’s ecclesiastical capital, Armagh, has announced details of a 12-day festival spectacular to celebrate the life and times of St Patrick, the island’s world-famous patron saint.

Promising a rich, lively and varied showcase of culture, music, song, art, drama, dance, exhibitions and family fun, the Home of St Patrick Festival begins an enthralling extended run on Friday 6 March as part of this year’s celebration.

Volunteer Now Launches New Volunteering Platform in Partnership with Be Collective


Volunteer Now, the lead organisation for promoting and supporting volunteering across Northern Ireland, today launched its revolutionary new volunteering opportunity search portal in conjunction with partner, Be Collective.

The Be Collective platform is the first of its kind to be implemented within the charity sector in Northern Ireland and aims to revolutionise volunteering and its impacts for businesses, community groups and individuals across the region.
